New Life
We found this little nest on our carport! The eggs are about the size they look in this top photo. We've seen the mommy bird, but we don't know what kind of bird she is. (She likes to peek in our laundry room window at night!)

Oh, how fun! You should see if you can snap a picture of the mama bird....I have a budding ornithologist that would LEAP at the chance to identify it for you. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe had robins one year and a killdeer nest that ended up getting destroyed. (Killdeer birds nest on the ground and this one chose to lay is gravel-looking eggs in a nest on our gravel driveway.) That was a sad day in our house!
Danielle, I'll try to get a picture of Mama Bird. She usually flies away before we get close enough to get a good look at her. Maybe we can get one, though! Poor little killdeer babies! That was a very unfortunate choice of nesting places!
ReplyDeleteWe recently raised a baby bluejay ... so very fun getting to do this stuff at such close quarters!
