I've posted several times recently about getting back into the habit of exercising. I'm already in the process of making exercise a part of my daily routine (particularly on week days). I also want to start eating more "real food." I've been cutting down on junk foods and sweets, and I've been helping my family members do those things too. But I still feel like we eat too much processed food and not enough fresh foods (real foods).
It's quite challenging to get my family members to eat more real foods because they are not exactly thrilled about the prospect of changing their eating habits. At all. And right now at the children's ages (17, 15, and 10), they feel good, have plenty of energy, and have very few health problems, so they don't really understand the need to change things. They really don't care right now that it will be even harder to change bad eating habits as adults. It's hard for them to imagine being adults, and they are happy to keep their bad eating habits for now and deal with making changes sometime in the future!
I'm sure my resolution will not be an easy one to keep. I suppose I'm really making a resolution not just for myself but also for my family--even though they aren't exactly "on board" with me. I just feel so strongly about it that I'm willing to work hard to do this! I'm praying that they will at least go along with it somewhat. I'm praying that they will see and feel the benefits as we go along. I'm praying that I will be able to hang in there even if I don't have support from them for their good as well as mine.
As we make changes, I'll update now and then and let you know how it's going. I'm hoping to share some tips and recipes too. And if you have any tips or resources or kid-friendly recipes, I'd love for you to share them with me!
Are you making any resolutions this year? Why or why not?

Just dropping over from the hip homeschool Mom... I saw this picture and just wanted to tell you how eye catching it is.

Hi Janis! I'm so glad you stopped by! And thanks for leaving me a comment too. :)
DeleteWendy,
DeleteThank you too for coming back and visiting my blog. I would like to encourage other homeschoolers of young children to take a look at my story. If you would pass the word I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for your encouraging words.
Blessings,
Janis
